HVAC Project Engineer 

ColonialWebb is seeking a customer focused HVAC expert or Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our pre-construction service project team. Use your industry knowledge and problem solving capability in our efforts to serve customers and win project work.

This engineer acts as a Service Project Specialist responsible for developing scopes, talking with customers and potting together proposals.

What you’ll do

1. Perform field surveys and load calculations in the development of estimates and prepare proposals and presentations in an effort to close Service Project orders.
2. With a focus on ROI for existing service customers and potential new customers, understand and apply technical knowledge to appropriate solutions while taking into account size and purpose of room and use of outside air per code.
3. Prepare estimates and change-orders, submit proposals to customers, finalize pricing, and complete internal setups in a timely manner.
4. Perform research and make client contact to identify and prioritize potential customers.
5. Prepare and implement business development action plans for targeted customers.
6. Prepare job setup paperwork and perform project management tasks required to start, maintain, and complete Service Projects.
7. Work with collaborative teams including sales and operations to develop differential solutions for our customers to set us apart from our competition. This will include creative solutions, energy conservation measures, life cycle analysis and value engineering approaches among others
8. Attend meetings, as necessary, with current and future customers to ensure healthy relationships and/or successful business development. Coordinate with CW personnel to maintain strong customer relationships.
9. Perform all sales activities in accordance with company practices through the effective use of time management; including prospecting, estimating, closing and maintaining customer relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 10+ years HVAC field experience
2. Commercial HVAC estimating knowledge including the basics of energy conservation measures widely applied in the HVAC industry.
3. Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications
4. Knowledge of building materials, engineering standards and codes

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Master level HVAC field experience)
2. Customer service/sales skills/capabilities.
3. Client management skills; ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions and expectations
4. Ability to deal diplomatically and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
5. Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
6. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
7. Advanced technological proficiency including strong Microsoft Office.
8. Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
9. Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle our dynamic, fast-paced workload
10. Ability to work within and take lead (when appropriate) of collaborative teams working toward a customer project solution.
11. Possesses a valid driver’s license and willing to travel to consult with customers within territory.
