HVAC MA Strategic Account Manager

ColonialWebb, one of the region’s premier mechanical contractors has an opening for a HVAC expert to provide account management, sales efforts/support and operations guidance for key customers. Essentially, this is an individual who will help bridge the gap between refrigeration operations and sales, while taking care of key customers.

What you’ll do

  1. Develop trusting relationships with customers and ensure customers have positive relationships with as many CW personnel as possible (make them Raving Fans of ColonialWebb).
  2. Identify how the customer makes decisions—i.e., to whom do they report? What $ thresholds do they have? What challenges do they have? Etc.).
  3. Identify customer objectives and how our services may fit into their needs.
  4. Be a resource for the customer and help customers with their energy initiatives. Provide customers with new industry trends, capital budgets, and technology and industry news.
  5. Strategize and execute plans to leverage as much business as possible from existing customers.
  6. Manage contract anniversary dates: Analyze and make recommendations on modifying and repositioning agreements on renewal processes. Collaborate with original Sales Person, if applicable, and lead the process with the Maintenance Sales Administrator.
  7. Perform 3-Month and 9-Month Customer Care evaluations with focus on improving customer service, retaining existing business and how to gain more business.
  8. Make recommendations on quoting SP & RS. Make best utilization of resources such as Quote Administrator, Service Project Sales Team, original Sales Person or Strategic Account Management team. Ensure the highest quality proposal is delivered to customer. (Format, verbiage, professionalism, etc)
  9. Assure retention of customers you are assigned with the goal being 100%.
  10. Review and become an expert on the scope of work sold to the customer. Review and become an expert on all customer requirements.
  11. Communicate to Operations Team, original Sales Person, Manager-Strategic Account Management and VP of Business Development (as appropriate) any major account developments that may negatively impact business relationships or may have a financial impact on CW.
  12. Keep abreast of any customer changes including additional opportunities, changes in procedures, or modifications to contract terms. Communicate those requests or opportunities to the original Sales Person and Strategic Account Manager (as applicable) before making any changes to the Customer Information sheet or contract.
  13. Send updates and reports to customers at required times as determined by customers and original Sales Person.
  14. As applicable, review consolidated billing prior to being sent to customer.
  15. Assist with A.R. as requested.
  16. Provide support to the non-technical “hunters” on the front end of the sales cycle as requested.
  17. Be involved in at least one networking group (IFMA, IREM, VSHE/ASHE, VANHA, BOMA, AEE, ASHRAE etc.)
  18. Weekly meet with the Manager-Strategic Account Management. Review activities, dead-lines and needed areas of support. Report quotes, wins, losses and upcoming quote opportunities.
  19. Attend meetings, as necessary, with current and future customers to ensure healthy relationships. Coordinate with CW personnel to maintain strong customer relationships.

What we’re looking for

  • Commitment to and facilitation of CW Core Beliefs
  • Completion of trade school, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration or electrical equipment or equivalent combination of technical training, knowledge and experience.
  • Strong customer service, sales and account management skills.
  • Ability to work in an aggressive, fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient with planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating detailed phases of maintenance related activities
  • Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
  • Focus and orientation for growth.
  • Ability to handle day-to-day management tasks relating to work assignments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
  • Excellent administrative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work within and take lead (when appropriate) of collaborative teams working toward a customer maintenance solution.
  • Advanced proficiency interfacing with technology, including Microsoft Office and other software
