ColonialWebb is seeking Refrigeration Apprentices to join our teams throughout the Norfolk, VA and NC/SC areas. Refrigeration Apprentices perform maintenance and repair operations pertaining to large, complex industrial cooling/refrigeration systems and associated control systems under the guidance of a Master Technician.

1. Develop expertise of evaporative condensers, large control systems, complex conventional electrical controls and Industrial Refrigeration Systems (ammonia, cascade and rack systems with the ability to rebuild commercial/industrial compressors).
2. Diagnosis causes of equipment breakdowns
3. Test parts with appropriate instruments
4. Disassemble and assemble parts
5. Make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components

Requirements:

1. Navy Nuclear experience: Electronics Technician, Electrician Mate, or Machinist Mate
2. Electrical and controls knowledge and experience relative to industrial or nuclear equipment
3. Ability to maintain and focus on training objectives given by Master Service Technician
4. High school diploma or equivalent
5. Ability to work in hot/cold environments
6. Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel
7. Ability to work under and without direct supervision
8. Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm when handling emergencies
9. Ability to deal diplomatically and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
