Project Engineer

ColonialWebb is seeking a Project Engineer to provide analytical and engineering support for design-build projects. These problem solvers complement project management, estimating, sales and field installation teams from bid to start-up of commercial mechanical construction projects, change-outs, retrofits, installations, and other service projects.

1. Performs estimates and conceptual design activities relative to commercial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical and electrical applications.
2. Produces comprehensive engineering and design packages, reports, and documents.
3. Provides technical engineering information to ensure work complies with engineering standards.
4. Develops detailed analysis of customer, system, and equipment requirements
5. Strengthens relationships with key customers

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering Management
2. Strong analysis and problem solving skills to resolve complex engineering problems
3. Possesses a valid driver’s license and willing to travel to consult with customers within territory.
4. Creative thinker and attentive to details.
5. Strong technical and mechanical knowledge
6. Customer orientated with strong customer service skills
7. Strong communication and listening skills
8. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
9. Advanced technological proficiency including strong Microsoft Excel skills
10. Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle our dynamic, fast-paced workload
11. Pass a driving record check, criminal background check and drug screen

Preferred Requirements:

1. Two+ years of engineering experience for a mechanical contractor
2. Experience with load calculation programs—i.e., Trane Tracer
3. Commercial HVAC/plumbing background and estimating knowledge
4. Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications
5. Knowledge of building materials, engineering standards and codes
