Comfort Systems USA-ColonialWebb is seeking plumber/pipefitter helpers for commercial construction projects in Williamsburg, VA.

What you’ll do

Assists mechanic with lay out, fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance and repairs of pipes, fittings, fixtures of heating,/water/ drainage systems, piping, piping systems, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems according to specifications and codes.

• Follow specific directions from project supervision.
• Performs a variety of duties which may often change.
• Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.
• Help set up tools and equipment.
• Loads and unloads construction materials from trucks and into buildings.
• Furnishes experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Cleans work area and restocks supplies and materials as necessary.
• Makes subassemblies and hangers as directed by Plumber.
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and devices during installation.
• May perform minor maintenance or cleaning of Plumber’s tools and equipment.
• Performs other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person.
• Maintains good housekeeping and a safe work area.
• Works safely, encourages others to do so, and complies with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by jobsite supervision or Construction Manager.

What we’re looking for

• Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fraction, and multiplication).
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Work easily and skillfully with hands.
• Maintain a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with coworkers other tradesmen.
• Ability to work with direct supervisor.
• Drug testing and current US work authorization required
