Master Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

What you’ll do

  • Diagnose and repair chilled water systems, cooling towers, large control systems, Building Automation Systems, complex conventional electrical controls, and industrial refrigeration systems including ammonia, cascade and rack systems.
  • Rebuild commercial and industrial compressors
  • Pump down and dismantle existing systems
  • Startup and commission new systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance operations as required
  • Train and develop apprentices in basic ammonia refrigeration theory, refrigeration equipment including compressors, condensers, ammonia liquid pumps, vessels and basic controls.

What we’re looking for

  • Must have 5+ years of service experience for ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge of Frick, FES, or other screw chillers
  • Experience with startup and commissioning of new systems
  • Skilled in programming refrigeration control systems
  • RETA course I, II, III certificates
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and able to travel, as necessary.
  • Universal EPA certification
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • Knowledge of PSM OSHA safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clean driving record & able to pass a drug test, background & work authorization check
